Frequently Asked Questions

Questions abound... so do answers.

Have a question you’d like to ask? I’m committed to giving clients the best care and experience I can. There’s no such thing as a bad question when it comes to mental health. Check out the answers to the FAQs below, and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any additional questions.

DO YOU OFFER SLIDING SCALE RATES?

I reserve a limited amount of time slots for clients with financial situations that cannot afford the standard session rates. To learn whether these times are available and how I can work within your budget, please contact me.

HOW LONG IS A THERAPY SESSION AND HOW FREQUENTLY DO WE MEET?

The standard session for therapy is 45 minutes. Based on individual needs, I also offer 60 and 90 minute options. I strongly recommend at least once weekly sessions for new clients to gain momentum in the therapeutic process.

WHAT THERAPEUTIC TECHNIQUES DO YOU PRACTICE?

Because therapy is not "one-size-fits-all," I use an evidence-based, integrative approach that is adapted for each individual's unique needs.

WILL I HAVE TO LAY ON A COUCH?

There is a couch in my office, but it's there to provide room for couples therapy or if we need to bring in a significant other. I promise, you don't need to be horizontal, staring at the ceiling to get the help you need. Of course, you can always lie down if you want to!

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I am not contracted directly with any insurance company, but most people can receive some reimbursement from their insurance plan. Head on over to my dedicated insurance page where I walk you through how to interact with your insurance company.

WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE? WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Starting therapy can be a stressful and overwhelming decision, especially if this is your first time asking for help. It's not as scary as you think! To learn what to expect, please head to my individual therapy page or give me a call and I can walk you through it.
